It's
hard to imagine that it gets
much more disturbing than
this, and because this is so,
this is a really easy subject
to turn away from and ignore.
Part of the reason porn has
taken hold the way it has is
because "good" people have
either ignored it or have
gotten hooked on it
themselves. Jail Chaplains
meet lots of folks who are
addicted to this evil shit.
Truth be told, if you took the
sex and drug related criminals
out of the jails, we wouldn't
have much to do, and it's
tense enough between the
Catholics and Evangelicals all
ready, never mind the Muslims.
If you want to know where all
of these criminals come from,
then that's what we'll be
exploring the next two nights.
Tomorrow night it will be the
drug side of the equation;
tonight it's sex. We're taking
this seriously enough to
forego any "Drive In" fun or
our usual shenanigans. Just a
short intro and then on to the
subject at hand, which is
handled tastefully, and as
gently as possible, in this
extraordinary documentary from
Magic Lantern Pictures. I
suppose, in the end, that air
of calm just serves to make it
all the more devastating and
disturbing.

Disturbing
content week it is here on
RNJ, as we continue in that
vein with this well done piece
by Universe Inside You. The
coming pole shift is another
one of those tales of
catastrophic earth changes
that Chaplain Phil studied
during those long, cold
winters in the north of
Michigan so long ago. Charles
Hapgood literally wrote the
book on this subject, and
that's what this documentary
is based upon. Long winters
lead to short summers, and
Chaplain Phil has fond
memories of young children
running about the farm yard
chaotically, chasing the
chickens loosed from their
pen, and shrieking, "Pole
Shift! Pole Shift!" before
descending upon the wild eyed
fowl with thunderous peals of
laughter. In the end, the
chickens were no worse the
wear, and Chaplain Phil got to
see, reflected in these little
leaders of tomorrow, the
result of his "be
intellectually engaging"
parenting philosophy in
action. Regardless, this is a
disturbing subject, and we
were long overdue for one of
these when Hapgood tried to
bring it to our attention a
generation or so a ago. As for
the amusing little antidote
about the children, that
serves no greater purpose than
to demonstrate that there are
other, and much more
endearing, kinds of
disturbing. |

Well,
I guess it stands to reason
that, just like everything
else, TikTok is also more
sinister than it appears.
Turns out, it's just another
destructive little gift from
your comrades in the Chinese
Communist Party, and this one
is particularly insidious
because it's aimed at
children. Like the new
electronic Pied Piper that it
is, TikTok is leading the kids
of the world merrily in a line
dance to their own
destruction, and all the while
couched in a harmless
appearing platform seemingly
designed
for no other purpose than
allowing teens a place to make
fools of themselves in public.
We never needed an app for
this in our day. And never
mind the psychological and
spiritual damage done to a
generation even more lost than
that of their parents, the
ones who hand out Androids
like their M&M's so they
can go off and indulge in
their own "adult" electronic
fantasies. Like our previous
programs on the Dead Internet
Theory, this one also
demonstrates the great need to
pull the plug on all of this
stuff and go outside and get
some fresh air. Alas, if it
was but that simple. Wireless
goes everywhere, and it seems
fresh air has gone the way of
the phone booth and the
trolley car.

Oh
no, Chaplain Phil! Not
our Coke! Anything but that!
A Coke for Chaplain Phil, a
Sprite for Brian and a Dr.
Pepper, of course, for Miss
Sally. That's the way we
roll here at RNJ, so if you
think we're taking a "holier
than thou" approach to this
subject, than you've
obviously never seen the
product placement in our
control room. Of course it's
theater of the mind, and
this disturbing documentary
by MagnatesMedia is going to
make the case that the
Coca-Cola Company may just
have invented it. If not,
they certainly have profited
from it. Back in the days
before everything was bad
for you, a Coke and a smoke
were the perfect break
combo. The Chesterfields are
long gone but the Coke
remains. That was before the
wonder-workers of modern
science came up with the
myriad of other drugs that
kill so much more
effectively than tobacco,
and are so much more
profitable in doing so. But
dear old Coca-Cola remains
always the gateway drug of
choice. And, speaking for
the millions of us who were
given Coke syrup as medicine
as infants, you'll take our
Coke when you pry that last
empty bottle from our cold,
dead fingers. Is the devil
good at what he does, or
what?

Our
week concludes with this
wonderful documentary by
James Corbett of Corbett
Report fame, detailing the
rise of the oil industry,
which is, of course, the
rise of John D. Rockefeller.
Son of snake oil salesman
"Devil Bill" Rockefeller,
young John D. would discover
at an early age that the
real money and power was in
the oil that existed
underfoot, not in the
elixirs that the charlatans
peddled to the hoard of
gullible and willing suckers
that make up humanity. It's
the same business, done in
the same way and to the same
evil ends, but the scale is
so much more vast and huge.
The real genius is in
creating the demand then
eliminating the competition.
Ford makes cars, Firestone
makes tires, and Rockefeller
sells oil to both and
establishes the business
model. Then
it's on to oil based
pharmaceuticals, so
the people can be
poisoned in the same
way as the planet. It's
the devil's American Dream
come true in the twisted
tale of this All American
boy made good. And when even
the Rothschilds welcome you
as a member of the club, you
know you've accomplished
something. Who says you
can't buy your way in?

Stolen
History concludes
tonight, with Part Two of
The Mystery of the World's
Fairs. While it's easy
to write off the World's
Fairs, and all of the other
worldwide "Expo's," as
merely elaborate
infomercials for the New
World Order, celebrating the
status quo and
creating demand for the
consumer goods of the
future, there really is this
haunting quality to it all
that goes beyond mere human
hubris. Perhaps it is
nothing more than the
perspective gained from time
and experience. As the
facade of pseudo-science
erodes to reveal the
illusions of the past, and
the smell of snake oil fades
into history, it's easy to
laugh at the gullibility of
our ancestors. Of course, we
should do this in
anticipation that one day
our progeny will be doing
the same concerning how
easily we were suckered into
all of the electronic
claptrap of our own age,
should they be fortunate
enough to survive it. The
theft of history is done
merely with chicanery and
slight of hand, and in the
end it matters little, for
what is done is done. The
real crime that is being
revealed is found in the
stealing of the future, and
we'll all pay big time for
that one. |

Stolen
History continues for
two more nights, as we turn
our attention to the many
mysteries concerning the
World's Fairs. Built in
haste, sponsored by the
robber baron industrialist
oligarchs of the age, then
hastily torn down upon
completion. Sometimes the
temporary buildings coming
down look like they're made
of matchsticks and
pasteboard, but some appear
to be built as a testament
to the ages. There were
several communities that
later rebuilt the temporary
buildings as more permanent
structures, and there were
some that were legitimate
structural marvels that met
untimely and suspicious
ends. Perhaps what is being
revealed here more than the
existence of a past
civilization beneath our own
is crooked humanity's
ability to spin a tale and
sell it to the gullible as
gospel. That's what the
World's Fairs were all about
anyway. The future nobody
wanted at a price no one
could afford, save the
oligarchs. And they could
only afford it if no one
else ever got it. The only
reason Henry Ford paid his
workers enough to buy a Ford
was because it allowed him
to ride around in a Lincoln.
And the idiots walking
through the fair exhibitions
never caught on that it was
the future of someone else
they were looking at and not
their own. |

Stolen
History is a
comprehensive attempt at
explaining the mystery of
lost history concerning the
Lost Empire of Tartaria, and
the Mud Flood that wipedout
the civilization that ours
was built upon - and
unbeknownst to anyone,
ourselves included. What
about the Star Forts? Where
did they come from? Are we
really suffering from some
sort of collective amnesia,
as Stolen History
suggests? Or is it something
else? Has some sort of
cosmic paradigm shift
occurred that places us in
an alternative reality; a
world like our own but
different in that what lies
beneath our feet belongs to
someone else? And what
became of them? This and
more to ponder, as we join
Chaplain Phil for the next
three nights, as he presents
Stolen History - Lifting
the Veil of Deception and
The Destruction of the Old
World tonight. Then
it's two nights of The
Mysteries of the World's
Fairs, which
essentially seeks to prove
that here is where we find
the evidence of this
mysterious previous world,
hiding in plain sight.
Intriguing stuff, but not to
worry - no mud flood at
Calvary. Once you realize
that, the rest of this just
becomes the end of the world
entertainment that it is.
They don't call Old Clooty
the "Father of Lies" for
nothing, and you have got to
admit, this one's a beauty.
The show is worth the price
of admission, and the size
of the crowd proves, as
always, that Barnum was
right.

It's
like old home week to start
this new week, as Chaplain
Phil returns, the gang is
all here, and RNJ Drive-In
format puts in what one
could almost call a guest
appearance, or perhaps a
return engagement. We've
done so much special
programming lately that it
seems as though the special
is the regular and the
regular the special. So grab
some Castleberry's
Bar-be-Que, popcorn and a
Sprite, and settle in for The
Dark World of Megachurches.
This is a James Jani
production, which means it
is thorough, well done, and
also carries no sense of the
reality of the spiritual
issues at stake at all.
Chaplain Phil calls Kenneth
Copeland, "The most
obviously demon possessed
man in America. Maybe the
World." Yet somehow the
obvious escapes, and these
charlatans leave so much
humanly generated dirt,
deceit, and damage in their
wake that it easily covers
their deeper cloven hoof
prints. God knows who they
are, and, like Charlie
Daniels said, there will
come "Payback Time." The
amount owed in dollars is
astronomical. You'll get a
sense of that here. But the
real cost is in souls, and
it's even greater.

"Theater
of the Mind" returns with
this terrific adaptation of
Ray Bradbury's classic tale
of government and society
run amok, Fahrenheit 451.
This
appears to be another of
those strange cases in which
Brian Helix finds himself
mysteriously in possession
of a classic radio drama
from the BBC's archive. It
was first broadcast by the
Beeb in 1982, then somehow
went missing about the time
of Brian's dismissal over
that unfortunate incident
concerning the Royals,
Jimmie Saville and all that.
The BBC's loss ends up as
our gain here at RNJ, and so
it is our pleasure to share
this story that seems to
pertain much more to our
world than the one it was
written for in 1953. It's
all happening right now when
you consider that all of the
tech and media censorship
going on is merely a less
incendiary form of the same
thing. In the end, it's the
people who get burned and
not just the books. That's
Bradbury's point, and he
hits you over the head with
it like it's the library's
Funk and Wagnalls
Dictionary. You could stay
warm all night and
bake a meatloaf with one of
those.

Oh
no! Chaplain Phil is back
and he's brought more of
this "new agey" stuff! Well,
so it's true, but it's good
for you, and he'll explain
why. Being aware is half the
game, and when one realizes
how endless the supply of
information like this is, it
becomes obvious that
something strange is going
on here. Taken at face
value, this is a phenomenon
that claims that
extraterrestrial, reptilian
beings are not only
transforming experiencers,
but all of us, via DNA
manipulation. Yeah, okay, it
is as weird as it sounds.
But the fact that it sounds
remarkably similar to what
transhumanists and
globalists like Klaus Schwab
and Bill Gates are saying
about the "Fourth Industrial
Revolution" does make one
sit up and take notice. All
of this DNA business has a
rather Frankensteinish feel
to it. It surely sounds like
somebody is building
something -- or more
accurately, somebody. Maybe
lots of them. Perhaps it's
human duplicates to house
the demons CERN is releasing
from hell so they can take
over the planet as they wipe
out humanity. Lord knows,
I'm sure we can count on the
Democrats to register them
and give them a ride to the
polls. Maybe they already
have.

Buckle
up and grab your Air America
airsickness bag, as Sally
concludes this classic
exposé of the
Bush/Clinton/CIA crime
cartel, and how the legend
of Iran Contra was born at
this sleepy little Arkansas
airport. Tonight, the focus
is on the story of Terry
Reed and his wife Janis, and
their incredible journey to
come in out of the cold,
with the Company doing its
best to make it hot for them
at every turn. Terry Reed
never bargained for this
when he agreed to sit in
Barry Seal's co-pilot seat,
and his wife Janis never
intended to raise her family
as a fugitive on the run,
but that's what happened.
And, in the end, they got
off easy. At least they
lived to tell about it. Life
in America's last days is
all about the criminals
being on the wrong side of
the bars and in the highest
echelons of power. That's
what this story is all
about, and it's a story
destined to find its way to
the cutting room floor of
history along with all the
others. To the victors go
the spoils, and also the
narrative. "If we don't stop
this now it will be too
late." That's what they were
saying about this when it
was happening. And they were
right.

Our
own Miss Sally
Belle-Époque is back on the
Clinton beat, and she's come
up with another winner. If
you think The Clinton
Body Count was a dirty
snowball rolling towards
hell, then the crime,
corruption and intrigue at
little Mena Airport, in the
Bonnie and Clyde, back roads
boondocks of rural western
Arkansas, is what really got
that ball rolling. George
"Poppy" Bush, so called
because of the opium trade
his "Air America" CIA ran in
the "Golden Triangle," set
bad boy Bill Clinton up in
this cocaine and gun running
"Enterprise" in Arkansas
just in time for Iran
Contra, and the rest is
hidden history. The Mena
Connection, as
presented here, is in two
parts. The first is a CBS
News "Eye on America"
documentary from 1995 that
is jaw dropping when
compared to what passes for
journalism on TV today. You
will be blown away be the
content, perhaps more so by
the fact that, just as the
internet age was dawning,
this is what the mainstream
media was carrying. Part One
ahead. Part Two tomorrow
night.

This
topic of the Kingdom of
Trtaria and the Mud Flood
just won't go away, and at
least some of the blame for
this has to go to Midnight
Ride, which has kind
of an "Art Bell in the Bible
Belt" vibe, thanks to
co-hosts David Carrico and
Jon Pounders. There is
definitely a spiritual twist
to all of this Mud Flood
business, and these are good
old boys who get that.
Chaplain Phil has been
following weird esoterica
like this for well over half
a century, and this topic
didn't appear on his radar
until a few years ago when
it swept the internet. Lord
knows, he never missed an
issue of Fate Magazine
back in the day, and Curtis
Fuller at Fate never
would have missed something
this bizarre. It's like
Mandella Effect history, or
the history of another
planet that suddenly finds
itself beneath our feet. Did
we get shifted into a
parallel universe when the
Mayan calendar Earth ended?
Wherever lies the truth, you
can bet this is all just
another part of the great
deception, and that the
grand deceiver is behind it
all. You have got to admit,
if you've been waiting
decades for the end of the
world like some of us have,
the show so far has in no
way been a disappointment.
The first advent of Christ
certainly proved worth the
wait, and the second is
certainly proving to be
worthy of the same. |

And
so our week concludes with
this fascinating documentary
from Plain Truth Ministries
titled, Babylon: Past,
Present, and Future.
This is a well balanced
report on a difficult
subject that spans thousands
of years, and Plain Truth
Ministries pulls it off
without a hitch and without
any Catholic bashing.
Chaplain Phil's contribution
is to suggest that Babylon
is a spirit more than a
place, and it is precisely
this spirit that is rising
up today to rule the world.
That's been the aim ever
since Nimrod was in short
pants, and today's world has
not only rediscovered the
ancient blueprints for the
Tower of Babel, but
possesses the tech savvy
needed to build the new and
improved globalist,
post-modern version. This
film was produced back in
1996, and it has that spooky
quality of seeing correctly
where the world was headed
then, and it's where we are
now. If warnings such as
this were ever heeded, I
suppose we wouldn't be in
our current predicament.
Babylon is rising, just like
we've been saying, and
Babylon: Past, Present and
Future was saying it
as well, and over 25 years
ago. Qoheleth was right, I
guess. There really is
nothing new under the sun.

Chaplain
Phil is back, and the point
he is trying to make with
this Coast to Coast AM
interview between George
Noory and Dr. Brooks Agnew
is that there are a lot of
people out there with a lot
of letters after their
names, promoting this same
basic idea that there are
nonhuman beings in back of
life on earth. And said
beings are the ones
promoting all of these
strange goings on here as a
means of reshaping our
admittedly questionable
future. Overlooked, of
course, is that old time
religion that is actually
the Catholic Truth of it
all, and that is that these
kinds of deceptions are
precisely what Jesus came to
warn us about. Always beware
of that teaching that Jesus
is just a regular old
ascended master who sits at
table with St. Germain and
all the others. No, this
conversation doesn't become
that inane, it merely heads
in that direction; enough so
that the initiated will
catch the drift. Jesus isn't
now, never has been, and
never will be part of this
New Age cult gang. He's the
supreme leader of another
pack entirely. Tonight's
program is an exercise in
gleaning the truth from such
conversations as these,
while discarding the false
information it is couched
in. It is a process that a
Mennonite theologian once
described as "...picking the
oats out of the horse shit."

Brian
Helix is your host and the
narrator of this very timely
exploration of the
appearances of the Blessed
Virgin Mary in the Ukraine,
as witnessed through the
experiences of the Catholic
mystic, Josyp Terelya, and
reported here by Quo
Vadis. Perhaps the
most under reported yet most
significant aspect of the
current difficulties
featuring Russia and the
Ukraine is the Blessed
Mother's role in what is
happening there. It is said
that there are three places
upon the earth that she
considers uniquely hers, and
they are Mexico, Portugal
and the Ukraine. She is
certainly most active in the
latter at the moment. From
open field shrines, to the
shared experiences and the
witness of the many, the
spiritual war for the
Ukraine goes unreported, and
this is crucial to
understanding it all,
especially Vladimir Putin's
orthodox posturing. The
conflict on this planet
isn't about politics, it
remains about religion.
Moreover, it is about belief
versus unbelief, good versus
evil, Christ in His Final
Conflict with the devil.
It's all taking shape, and
like that old Catholic
catcher Yogi Berra might
say, "It isn't Putin that's
the devil, it's the devil
that's the devil!" Putin
only helps. It's a team
effort.

Our
intrepid girl reporter is
admittedly a little spooked
by all the death surrounding
the Clintons. And Brian
didn't help when he
suggested that she watch the
1988 Oliver Stone flick, Talk
Radio, between the
episodes. It's not like the
Clintons haven't taken out
their fair share and more of
journalists and talk show
hosts that have spilled
their kettle of nasty fish,
and it wasn't lost on her
that number one on the kill
list was a journalist who
was reporting on this very
story. However, the show
must go on and so it does in
Part Two of The Clinton
Body Count Documentary.
It's reminiscent of those
roll calls they do for the
victims of the 9/11 attacks,
though even more sinister
since those folks weren't
actually killed by the
leaders of their own
government. Or were they?
That's a conspiracy theory
for another day, but it does
point out, like the Clinton
Body Count, that we've got
leadership trouble right
here in the River City of
America. To paraphrase Pogo,
"They have seen the enemy
and they is us." Is there
any solution? Well, like
Sally says, "The best way to
straighten out a bent nail
is with a hammer." Food for

Part Two.

Belle-Époque takes over

Seriously. It's The
Clinton Body Count
Documentary - 2021 - The
Syndicate Serial Killers,
in which smasher of
smashleft dispels the claim
of the Clintons, and their
political and media cronies,
that this is just another
one of those crazy
conspiracy theories
surrounding poor Bill and
Hillary. Actually, that's
exactly what it is. And,
like most of the others,
this one not only proves out
to be true, but ends up
exceeding expectations. Like
Jim McDougal, Vince Foster,
Ron Brown and so many others
found out the hard way, with
friends like Bill and Hill,
you really don't need any
enemies. And the already
thin line between who is
which becomes blurred in a
hurry when the chips are
down and the Clintons need a
fall guy or a scapegoat.
Like a modern day Bonnie and
Clyde, they rode out of
Arkansas and left a trail of
crime, corruption, and
corpses across the South and
all the way to Washington
DC. Meet some of the folks
who ended up on the wrong
side of the Clinton Gang,

And
so we conclude Andrew
Carrington Hitchcock's
landmark treatise on the
House of Rothschild, aptly
titled as it turns out, The
Synagogue of Satan. If
you had any doubts that the
love of money is the root of
all evil, or that there are
bounds and limits to man's
inhumanity to man, those
doubts should be dispelled
by now. It's hard not to be
cynical in a world that
seems to cry out for
cynicism, yet that lost hope
that springs eternal does
seem to beckon from
somewhere. Perhaps it is
from that mystical place
where the patron saints of
lost causes dwell; those who
indicate by their very
existence the greater hope
that God must recognize no
such thing. The Cross
itself, regardless of what
else one believes happened
there, is still the symbol
of the ultimate cause lost
then put right in the most
unlikely and unexpected of
ways. Pity the poor
Rothschilds; pray for them,
for they epitomize for all
what it means to gain the
whole world and lose one's
soul in the process.
Christ's kingdom is not of
this world and the worst
they can do to us is send us
to it. Their kingdom is this
world, and, in the end,
their Synagogue of Satan
shall burn with it.

We
continue tonight with Act
Four in this unfolding
"Passion Play of History."
The years 1990 to 2000 are
certainly an interesting
time in America, as the
nation oscillates, and
vacillates, from Bush, to
Clinton, and back to Bush
again, with few realizing
they are just different
Jacks and Jokers, all dealt
from the bottom of the same
crooked deck. It's the
Rothschilds that hold the
purse strings and with them
all the cards. Following the
money always leads one to
the truth. Whether it's 30
pieces of silver in a
leather pouch, or 30
trillion dollars pledged to
the destruction of mankind,
it all originates from the
same source, and it's all
dedicated to the same
purpose. Don't kid yourself.
The devil cares nothing for
man, other than for the
fleeting amusement gained in
causing his wanton
destruction. It's God's
throne he's after, and if he
has to go through man to get
it, so be it. The first lie
of the Great Deception told
to Eve in Eden was, "It's
all about you." And even the
Cross itself isn't enough to
break that illusion in the
minds of most of the goyim
sheep now being led to the
slaughter. That's where the
devil's got them and he
knows it. The judgment of
humanity is upon us,
condemned by the killing of
the Son of God, with the
devil himself gleefully
executing the sentence
through his willing
executioners, the
Rothschilds. And that, dear
listeners, is why they call
their house, "The Synagogue
of Satan."

We
move on to those formative
years now, that time from
1956 to 1989, and we see
just how much the Rothschild
web of evil continues to
tighten its grasp upon a
world struggling to sort
fact from fiction, truth
from lies, fantasy from
reality. All the lines begin
to blur during this time, as
if the vast influx of drugs
coming into society resulted
in one last, giant frat
party, just to show the
Reagan police who was boss.
At least the music was still
good and performed by human
beings, albeit desperate
ones. We all knew their last
cries to the world for help
would go unanswered, and so
they did. During the day, we
were told it was all the
work of nefarious and
mysterious dark cartels,
operating undercover, and
answerable to no one. We
only talked real history
over pitchers, and true
religion between tokes in
the dark, and, even in this
state of mind, we knew we
spoke more truth than we
heard in class. By 1989, one
only spoke of the realities
of 1956 in hushed tones such
as this. After this time, if
one knew what was good for
oneself, one ceased to speak
about them at all.

Last
night we began in the 19th
century and proceeded at a
fairly quickened pace to the
early years of the 20th.
Time slows down now as we
examine the activity of the
Rothschilds moving into the
middle years of the last
century. Always shamelessly
working both ends against
the middle, they managed to
bring the world to war
twice, and merely a
generation apart. If the
world could have tolerated
more I suppose they would
have given it to her.
Ruthless and cunning, cold
and calculating, they
profited from the carnage
and wanton human suffering,
as they financed both sides
and showed none of their
first century namesakes'
distaste for blood money. Or
blatant usury for that
matter. There is no clearer
example of why God's law
forbids such things than the
evidence presented, and
testified to, by the
multitudinous sins of the
Rothschilds. Like human
spiders, they have spun a
web of intrigue and deceit
that has ensnared the whole
world, and they'll inject
their venom into everyone if
the status quo
remains unchallenged.

Chaplain
Phil
Chaplain Phil grew up
listening to alternative points of
view, and the underground
perspective, that characterized
late night AM and shortwave radio
in the 1960's. In the cold
winter months following the events
that transpired in Dallas on
November 22, 1963, he came to
realize that the death of
President Kennedy represented an
even deeper and more profound
tragedy - the death of the nation.
In the summer of 1964, he read None
Dare Call It Treason by
John Stormer and understood how
this had come to pass. He
was 10 years old.
Through
the ensuing years, he has followed
the flow of free information, as
what we now call the "mainstream
media" banished independent
Christian broadcasting, and honest
political thought, from the AM band to shortwave, then
to the internet, and now, in the
face of internet censorship, back
to shortwave. After a
lifetime of listening, he now
feels the time has come to
speak. His message is
simple. We are living in a
godless false reality created for
the purpose of destroying most of
us and enslaving the rest.
The
time of Revelation is here. Take
heart. For what is being
revealed is the eternal truth of
Jesus Christ.

Catholic
Pirate Radio

|

|
What
is Catholic Pirate
Radio?
|
Pirate
radio or a pirate
radio station is a
radio station that
broadcasts without a
valid license.
Catholic Pirate
Radio is broadcast
without the official
sanction or approval
of the Catholic
Church, any of its
connected agencies
or organizations, or
any member of its
hierarchical
structure (bishops,
cardinals, pope,
etc.).

Queen of Catholic Pirate Radio
|
"You
see, God expects His people
to do the ridiculous so
He can do the
miraculous." - Mother
Angelica
|
Father
Coughlin
Father
of Pirate Radio |
|
Mother Angelica: Queen
of Catholic Pirate Radio
Mother Mary Angelica
founded the EWTN television
network, and, more
significantly for my purposes
here, WEWN, a global shortwave
broadcast service with
transmitters located in
Irondale, Alabama. In
the 1990's, Mother Angelica
became one of the most
dominant Christian voices on
the shortwave bands, and WEWN
a torch that beamed her
message of the truth of
believing and faithful
Catholicism across the nation
and the world. She was a
major influence concerning my
conversion to the Catholic
Faith in 2002, and it is
truthful to say that my
formation as a Catholic took
place with her over many
nights of listening to the
most powerful voice on 41
meters. She gets much
credit for her pioneering work
in Catholic television, while
her savvy for international
shortwave broadcasting goes
largely unheralded and is just
as significant. It made
her a worldwide voice for the
faith rather than just an
American phenomenon, and paved
the way for the globalization
of EWTN.
Mother Angelica
earned the title of Queen of
Catholic Pirate Radio when she
publicly took on and disputed
the apostate Archbishop of Los
Angeles, Roger
Cardinal Mahony,
concerning the Real Presence
of Jesus in the Holy
Eucharist. While Mahony
was unleashing his wrath upon
Mother all the way to Rome,
it should also be noted that
he retreated quickly and
issued a statement taking
offense at her for daring to
question his belief in the
Real Presence. Thanks to
Mother's widespread and
profound media influence, I'm
sure a lot of bishops, cut
from the same cloth as
Mahoney, also thought twice
about peddling the "Spirit of
Vatican II" nonsense in an
overt way that might end up on
TV.
Here's some vintage
Mother for you:
I’m so tired of you
liberal Church in America!
And everything you’ve ever
done has gone in silence.
Nothing, nothing you’ve done
– from your witchcraft to
your enneagrams to your
centering prayer to all
this ‘earth
spirituality’ to replacing
holy water with sand to
destroying our churches and
closing churches that are
viable and ready to go…no,
this is not an accident.
We’ve swallowed this now for
thirty years. I’m tired of
it. We have swallowed enough
of your idea of God! You
have, really, no God,
no dogma, no doctrine,
and no authority, because
the only authority in the
Catholic Church is
our Holy Father and the
Magisterium, and you have
disclaimed that. You don’t
believe in the Eucharist,
you don’t believe in the
Immaculate Conception, you
don’t believe in the Virgin
Birth, you don’t believe in
Mary’s power of
intercession, you don’t
believe in religious life,
you don’t believe in being a
spouse of Christ! You do believe in teaching
to little children in the
third grade sex education,
you do believe in forcing
centering prayer and forcing
inclusive language upon us,
and now you depict Jesus as
a woman?! You’re sick!
Nothing to add to
that. As a layman, my
duty as a Catholic is to point
out these things just as it
was Mother's duty as a
religious - a Carmelite
nun. She taught me
well. It's time for
Catholic Pirate Radio, the
next generation.
Father Charles
Coughlin: Father
of Pirate Radio
In
1926,
Father Charles Coughlin
first took to the airwaves
on WJR radio in Detroit to
denounce the Ku Klux Klan,
which had recently burned
crosses on the grounds of
his parish. Turning to
politics in 1929, Father
Coughlin quickly became a
dominant and highly
influential radio voice on
the CBS network, with a
weekly listening audience
estimated at 30,000,000
during the peak of his
popularity in the early
1930's. While at first
a fervent supporter of the
policies and person of
President Franklin D.
Roosevelt, his views became
more controversial and his
rhetoric more strident as
the Great Depression
lingered on. By 1936,
he was expressing a
viewpoint that was
anti-capitalist and
anti-socialist, and invoked
no little controversy by
expressing a certain
sympathy concerning the
fascism of Benito Mussolini
and Adolph Hitler. He
was accused of anti-Semitism
based upon this and his
searing critique of the
European Jewish banking
establishment, which he
sought to qualify as
follows:
My purpose is to
help eradicate from the
world its mania for
persecution, to help align
all good men, Catholic and
Protestant, Jew and Gentile,
Christian and non-Christian,
in a battle to stamp out the
ferocity, the barbarism and
the hate of this bloody era.
I want the good Jews with
me, and I'm called a Jew
baiter, an anti-Semite.
My point here is not
to speak out for or against
Father Coughlin and his
political opinions, but merely
to point to him as an early
example of the efforts to
censor and silence unpopular
viewpoints. He remains
the textbook example of church
and state teaming up to remove
from public influence someone
deemed too controversial to
have his views heard by the
great unwashed masses of the
general public. The
Roosevelt Administration
determined a priori
that the First Amendment did
not apply to radio
broadcasting, and new
regulations and restrictions
were created specifically to
remove Father Coughlin from
the airwaves. For the
first time, public
broadcasters had to obtain a
permit and seek approval to
speak on the air, and this was
the impetus for those who
refused to do so taking to the
airwaves in protest: the birth
of pirate radio. While
Father Coughlin was able to
circumvent his banishment from
network broadcasting by buying
airtime on local stations, his
reach and influence were
drastically reduced. In
1942 he was ordered to remove
himself from public life by
Bishop Edward Aloysius
Mooney. He complied
without complaint and spent
the remainder of his career as
parish priest at the Shrine of
the Little Flower in Royal
Oak, Michigan. He
retired from active ministry
in 1966.

Welcome
to our broadcast facilities here at
RNJ. This is where Chaplain Phil and
our crew make the magic happen.
Stars of the Show are a Sweetwater Studio
Computer powering Jean and Ginger, two
1950 Canadian Philips Table Radios that
serve as broadcast monitors. That's Ginger
on the right channel, and Jean on the
left. Auxilliary Computer is "Old
Faithful," a 2009 Hewlett Packard (that's
like about a 1930 model in American Tube
Radio Years (ATRY). You'll also notice
three communication receivers, two 1959
Hallicrafters S-108's and a 1947 National
NC 57. Standby monitors include a 1937
Coronado 725 and 1953 Philco 53-960. It's
all sorted out through a Behringer Xenyx
802 Mixer. Our antenna array (not
shown) is an 80 foot sloping copper long
wire antenna, fastened to a Royal Palm and
running from there to the studio.
